Researchers Discover Safe Treatments in Record Time

Dr. Berish Rubin, Head, and Dr. Sylvia Anderson, Director, Laboratory for Familial Dysautonomia Research, Fordham University

Dr. Berish Rubin and Dr. Sylvia Anderson’s research has vastly improved the lives of children and adults with FD. Their laboratory, The Laboratory for Familial Dysautonomia Research at Fordham University, New York, is dedicated to studying the molecular biology of Familial Dysautonomia (FD).  In addition to the discovery of the gene mutation that causes FD, research at the laboratory has produced several life-changing treatment breakthroughs.
